Hey, we're getting a shuttle!
NASA to Fly T-38 and F-18 Fighter Jets 1,500 Feet Above LA on Saturday
NASA, in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration, will conduct training and photographic flights over the Los Angeles area on Saturday, Aug. 25.
Two NASA jets, a T-38 and an F-18, will fly approximately 1,500 feet above Los Angeles starting at 8 a.m. PDT. If delayed by weather or other circumstances, the jets will fly at 12:30 p.m. These flights are intended to capture photographic imagery.
The training flights are being made to determine the best flight path for the Boeing 747 carrier plane that will carry Space Shuttle Endeavour to LAX (weather permitting) on September 20th. The carrier plane requires a low approach path, with trees being “topped” in Inglewood just for the approach. From LAX, the shuttle will travel via truck to its final resting place at the Science Center in Exposition Park.
If the flights must be canceled for any reason, they will be rescheduled and an additional notice will be released.

'The Office' Will End After Its Next Season
The cynical among us might say that "The Office" jumped the shark once Pam and Jim got engaged back in 2008, but perhaps we can all agree that the single-camera sitcom has been on its way out at least since the departure of Steve Carrell last year.
